Fort Greene and Clinton Hill has a new Brooklyn private school, Greene Hill School.  Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan moms are buzzing about it and in many cases adding it to their lists of schools to apply to in 2012.

Founded in 2009, the school now has 70 families enrolled and a spacious new building on Adelphi Street in Brooklyn.  Committed to holding to low tuition rates, a progressive learning philosophy, a commitment to environmentalism and local causes, Greene Hill School is meeting the needs of an overcrowded borough looking for alternative private school options.  Packer, Saint Ann’s, Brooklyn Friends, Poly Prep and Brooklyn Height Montessori simply can’t enroll all the Brooklyn families seeking private school, and unlike Greene Hill School, these schools don’t have sliding scale tuition.

I look forward to hearing more about Greene Hill School as it continues to gain attention.
