Artificial intelligence is here with a vengeance, and many NYC private school applicants as well as NYC private school admissions officers are using it. The problem is that AI is very easy to spot.
I asked one client if she wrote her thank you note using Chat GPT because it was blatantly obvious.
Yes, she said.
When an admissions officer reads correspondence that is obviously AI written, they doubt the sincere enthusiasm of the applicant. It’s not a good look.
And attention admissions officers: while you’re in the driver’s seat, so you can get away with it, AI doesn’t look good the other way either. Applicants deserve more than to interact with a bot.
Humans are still necessary in the private school admissions process. I’m glad to provide the caring support and expertise that only a person can.
