Kyle Spencer reports in The New York Times: Catholic Schools in U.S. Court China’s Youth, and Their Cash
More and more students from China are enrolling in more and more American private high schools. High schools are realizing that foreign students, seeking a more holistic education and entrance to American colleges, represent an eager market.
As I see it, the New York City market is underdeveloped, with only a few private schools, Leman Meritas and Avenues, actively seeking Chinese students and providing them with Manhattan dormitory options. New York City is an attractive destination for Chinese students, so many more would arrive if there were schools in which to enroll and residences in which to live. As a NYC private school consultant, I am regularly approached by Chinese consultants seeking assistance and partnerships.
