Why are private schools almost over for the year while public school kids have almost a whole month left of school? That is the eternal question.
On one hand, we are expecting kids to work much harder than we ever did. I never had homework in kindergarten, for example. On the other, kids go on repeated breaks and then have three months off.
Private school teachers (and all teachers) should be paid more, and private schools should be open for more days. Teachers should spread out work, assigning less homework each day. Many kids like structure, they like learning, so they lose when they are constantly transitioning in and out of school.
